NEW LOCATION!

This year London City Airport’s annual Fun Day will be held at Thames Barrier Park on Saturday 3rd July. The airports Fun Day now in its 14th year promises to be a fun filled family day out with a number of attractions and sporting activities for all ages.

Over the past fourteen years London City Airport’s Fun Day has become a much loved annual community event with more than 25,000 visitors attending last year’s festival.

This year Fun Day has been relocated to the famous Thames Barrier Park, by Pontoon Dock DLR station, where visitors will enjoy the fabulous views of the flood Barriers along with a range of exciting activities.

Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport commented; “In previous years Fun Day has been held on site at the airport but with the record number of visitors the attendance has now exceeded the airport’s capacity.  We are pleased that the London Development Agency has granted the airport permission to use Thames Barrier Park where we can continue to make this event even better.”

The main attractions this year include a kids and adult zone offering a number of sporting and dance workshops; an inflatables and side show area along with a number of delightful entertainment acts in the giant garden area.

London City Airport’s Fun Day provides the opportunity to raise much needed funds for Richard House Children’s Hospice. The hospice provides care and respite to families and children with life-limited illnesses. All cash raised on the day is donated directly to Richard House.

Admission to the Fun Day is free for everyone. The doors open from 11.30am to 3.30pm.  Come along and enjoy the fun!

Web site live!

The Fun Day web site has gone live! We're all excited about 2010 here at Fun Day camp.

Our key priority is to raise sponsorship so that we can start securing activities for next year. A giant football pitch is on the cards as well as an inflatable race track!

Keep tuned.
